Welcome to the Benzie~Manistee Snowbirds On-Line. Our system consist of 162 miles of trail and connects to Wellston Winter Trails. Our trail reports bring you up to date information on parts of Benzie and Manistee County, along with links to other areas in northern Michigan.

The Benzie Manistee Snowbirds were founded in 1968. At the time, a local group in support of their love to snowmobile got together and started this club. In the beginning, there were no tractors build to groom the trails. In the Mid 70″s Ray Bradley, who was named Groomer of the year, used a “track Truck”. This is where the innovation came from for smoothing out the trails. Our 162 miles of trails are groomed trails and connects to groomed Wellston Winter Trails. There you have another 64 miles of winding and straight tracks going through the Huron-Manistee National Forest. Add on connecting Leelanau trail, Cadillac trail or Irons trail for many more riding miles.

We have trail maps located at most area businesses. Be sure to let them know you appreciate their support of the many senic trails you can enjoy.

Use Caution!! Please be observant as our fellow rides and the great guys “our volunteers” on those big green machines maybe just around the corner or just up over the hill. Show them your appreciation with thumbs up and a courtesy pass of right a way. Our guys give up many hours of their own riding time and their sleep to do a great job at trying to keep others happy on our trails. And just a few selfish people can take away the groomers pride of all they have accomplished and not to mention the big cost to our club. Please show some respect for the guys grooming during the early morning or late night hours.
